ABOUT THE WANDERING STUS

Hi, There! We’re Lauren & Jesse Stuart

Or, as you’ll come to know us as “The Stu’s” from The Wandering Stus. Born and raised in the middle of the United States, in Missouri to be exact. We’re a free-spirited couple whose appetite for adventure and faraway places fuels that wanderlusting pull…. and that pull is something we always give in to!

The Wandering Stus started when we quit our corporate jobs in 2017 to backpack through Southeast Asia and Nepal. We placed our lives in Missouri on hold and sold some stuff (a lot of stuff) in order to fulfill a dream. The dream of making time for ourselves, living in the now, and exploring the beautiful people and places Mother Earth has to offer. You know, all that good stuff!

Today, you’ll find us either road-tripping around the U.S. in our RV with our scruffy pup named Huey or exploring new cities and countries around the world.

We love to:

  • Camp & hike
  • Scuba dive
  • Eat street food & well, eat any food really
  • Listen to live music
  • Binging a good Netflix series

Not only are we adventure travelers, but we consider ourselves “happy mix” travelers! For every trip, we like to have a happy mix of both urban and nature. Our M.O. is exploring bustline cities before we eventually make our way to the serenity of hiking trails or the ocean waves. It’s the best of both worlds if you ask us and a great way to experience everything a destination has to offer!

Take a look around and thanks for stopping by! Oh, and happy travels!

Is Patagonia on your list to visit?! Itinerary bel Is Patagonia on your list to visit?! Itinerary below to help you plan your trip to one of the most impressive places on the planet 👇🏻

ITINERARY
✈️ Fly round trip in and out of El Calafate, Argentina
📍 2 days in El Calafate
📍 2 days in Puerto Natales, Chile
📍 5 days in Torres Del Paine to hike The W
📍 4 days in El Chalten, Argentina

🚌 GETTING AROUND
Bus travel will get you to and from each place and over the border no problem! Alternatively, you can rent a car and be on your own schedule! Just make sure the rental company you book through allows you to take their car across the border into Chile and back into Argentina!

⏰ WHEN TO GO
Best time to visit Patagonia is December - February aka their summer!

You can shorten your days in Torres Del Paine NP if you don’t want to hike The W, but we highly recommend spending as much time in Patagonia as you can swing! It’s like no place on earth ❤️🥾👏🏻

Have you ever hiked on a massive Glacier?! Details Have you ever hiked on a massive Glacier?! Details below 👇🏻

📍WHERE
Perito Moreno Glacier is located 1 hour away from Calafate within Los Glaciares National Park in Patagonia, Argentina.

🥾 GLACIER TREKKING
In order to hike on top of Perito Moreno, booking a tour is required. We booked the Mini-Trekking 2 excursion with @hieloyaventura (not an ad)

📸 OTHER WAYS TO VISIT
Walk the trails of platforms/boardwalks that surround a cliff side overlooking the glacier below, book a kayaking tour to get up close and personal with the glacier, or reserve a boat tour if you’re not to keen on hiking.

⏰ BEST TIME TO GO
The best time of year to visit is in the warmer Spring and Summer months, from October to April. January and February are considered the best months, but this is also peak season. We went in January and loved it!

💰 COST
To enter Los Glaciares National Park, international visitors are required to pay $45,000 pesos (about $45 USD) per person. This will allow you to enter the park and access the boardwalks that give you exceptional views of the glacier. Tours like Glacier Trekking, boat rides, or kayaking will be an additional cost on top of your park entry fee.
