Angkor Wat Tour: The Perfect Angkor Wat Itinerary

Tickets and Prices

When visiting Angkor Wat, you have three options/prices to choose from when picking your “Angkor Pass.” Sorry, guys and gals, Angkor Wat is not free.

Angkor Passes are sold in one-day ($37), three-day ($62) and seven-day ($72) pass options. If you buy a three-day or seven-day pass, please know that those tickets must be used consecutively.

You can only buy passes from the Angkor Ticket Offices. The offices open at 5:00am. Once at the Angkor Ticket office, you’ll get in a line, pay in cash – Khmer Riel, US Dollars and Euros are accepted – and have your picture taken.

Credit Cards are also accepted if you don’t have cash

Once all the above is processed, you’ll be handed your pass and off you’ll go to see some of the most amazing temples on the planet!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your ticket must remain on you at all times. If you are found inside the park without a ticket, you will be handed over to the police and fined somewhere between $100 – $300 USD.

How Many Days for Angkor Wat?

The infamous question, right? Well, the answer to that question depends on you.

If you’re tight on time and cash, then a one-day Angkor Pass is for you.

On the other hand, if you have a few days and really hate the idea squeezing in all the sites in one day, then a three-day pass is probably right for you.

Really, it’s personal preference. Whatever best suites your time and travel style is the Angkor Pass you should go with.

For us, we went with a three-day pass but only visited Angkor Archeological Park for two-days. The three day pass allowed us the flexibility to go when we wanted and also, see one more epic sunrise and sunset 🙂

The best part of a two-day itinerary for Angkor Wat is that you can enjoy two full days OR enjoy two half days.
