What’s in our bags?! We’ve teamed up with a few fellow instagrammers to give you a list of 5 things we don’t leave home without. Now, of course we always pack our phones and cameras, that’s a given. However, we’re here to provide you a list of the maybe not-so-obvious items to give you a better idea of what to pack so you’re not kicking yourself in the butt later 🙂
So lets get to it, shall we?! Here is our list of 5 things we don’t leave home without.
#1: Meet our first Instagrammer’s, travel couple Natalia and Hernando from @travelinglikelocals.
Based in Costa Rica, Naty and Nando know a thing or two about jungle living and have amazing pictures to prove it.
What they don’t leave home without? A tripod.
“The one thing we don’t leave on a trip without is our tripod. We find it super useful to take stunning pictures wherever we go and it helps a lot when taking pictures together.”
#2: Next up we have Retha, the Roaming Nanny from @roamingnanny.
Retha is a super nanny and an outdoor junkie who is slowly but surely making her way to all corners of the globe.
What she doesn’t leave home without? Sea To Summit Ultralight Sleeping Pad
“I carry it with me everywhere. It has saved me from uncomfortable sleeps more than once. I’ve spent several nights (and naps) on airport floors with this baby. It’s nice and tiny and is incredibly comfy!”
#3: Meet our third instagrammer, Steph from @steph_stallings.
Steph is an outdoor adventurer to say the least. You can find her trekking trails or summiting peaks anywhere in the US.
“I never leave for a hike or traveling adventure without my water bladder. Staying hydrated is super important on the trail. Especially at high altitude. Keeping water handy has always been very helpful. Before, during and after an adventure.”
#4: Meet Joelle from @ridingaroundtheglobe.
Joelle’s mantra of “ridings the name, travelings the game” has taken her to far off places all on a one-way ticket. She’s a fearless dreamer to check out.
What she doesn’t leave home without? A Journal
“For the past three years, I have never left my house without my journal. It started out as a way to keep track of things that had happened on my travels because I have the memory of a goldfish. Now it has become sort of therapy. As a solo traveler, you collect experiences that are unique to you. Feelings that arise that you can share with other but they won’t necessarily understand. It can be frustrating to feel all these feelings and not have an outlet to process and unleash. For me, that’s why I love to journal. I can journal about what my day was like, what someone made me feel, a situation that made me think, talk to God or just doodle.”
#5: We had to include ourselves right?! Ha, last but not least, us, Jesse and Lauren from @wanderingstus.
We’re a travel couple from the US who recently returned from a 8-month backpacking trip across Southeast Asia. No worries, we have more adventures in the works.
What we don’t leave home without? RAV Power Pack
“It’s a life saver. For times when you are staying at a place with no electricity or for those long haul flights or bus rides, keep your gear charged up and ready to rock for the moments you need them the most.”
Hopefully, the list above has given you a good starting place on things to pack in that suitcase or backpack of yours. Wherever your off too, happy planning and packing. Enjoy the journey, friends!
